Local. Private. Yours.
Brew a character into images, video and film.
Apophex is a self-contained studio that runs on your own GPU. Describe a character, give it a face, approve the look, then generate stills, clips and a finished short. No cloud, no subscription, no one else's servers.
Access is by invitation. If you don't have an account, ask the administrator for one.
- Runs entirely on one machine
- Every image stays in your own library
- You approve each step before the next runs
The product
One loop, from a sentence to a short.
Most image tools stop at a picture. Apophex is built around a character that lasts: a persona you can talk to, a face that stays consistent across every render, and a pipeline that turns approved looks into turnarounds, styled poses, a trained LoRA, storyboards and video clips.
An in-app agent drives the toolchain for you. In pipeline mode it knows what is done and suggests the next step; in designer mode it interviews you and writes the persona; in character mode it simply is the character. It presents candidates. You approve.
Characters that persist
Six persona sections with a backstory, reference images, a profile shot, a memory bank and a map of their relationships. Everything downstream is built from this one record.
A studio, not a prompt box
Model families, poses, LoRAs, wildcards, batches, face swaps and upscales, with the result auto-saved to the right gallery.
A film pipeline with a gate
Eight steps, each producing candidates you approve or reject. Approved media is promoted; the rest never leaves candidates.
Features
Everything the loop needs, in one window.
Design Assistant
Chat a character into existence. The assistant interviews you and writes the persona: look, personality, voice, backstory, outfits and world. Drop in reference photos and it matches them.
Imagine studio
Pick a base model, type a scene or let the wand compose one from the persona, choose a pose from 180 references and stack LoRAs. Every render lands in the character's gallery.
Wildcards and templates
Roll outfits, hair, colours and settings from wildcard lists, or save named prompt templates and fill them with one click of the dice.
Eight-step film pipeline
Character set, turnaround, styled poses, LoRA, opening frame, storyboard, clips, stitch. Approve or reject every candidate; nothing moves forward without you.
In-character chat
Talk to your character as itself, or as one of your other characters. Sessions are saved or thrown away, memories are banked as you go, and it can send a selfie mid-conversation.
Galleries and projects
Pin a profile picture, chain reference images, group characters into folders, and keep every project one click from the editor.
One shared queue
Every render joins one machine-wide queue. See what is rendering, where your job sits in line, and cancel your own.
Private accounts
Several people, one GPU. Characters, images, prompts and settings belong to one account; nobody else can even fetch your media by URL.
Roleplay
Characters with a past, a circle and a memory.
A face is only half a character. Each one in Apophex has a backstory, a web of relationships to the others in your library that need not be mutual, and a bank of memories that grows with every conversation. Talk to them and they answer from all of it.
Step into your own cast, too: choose a second character and speak as them, and the chat plays out with their history and their bond shaping every line.
Backstory
Every character carries a written past: where they came from, what shaped them, what they want. The Design Assistant drafts it from an interview or a reference photo, and it stays hand-editable beside their look, personality, voice, outfits and world.
Relationships
A mind-map of who your characters are to each other. Every connection points one way, so a pair can hold two: Marco can be Polo's lover while Polo counts Marco a friend, each with its own bond from 1 to 10. Keep notes on what happened between them; lover, attraction, friend, enemy, idol and the rest are yours to rename and reinvent in Settings.
Memories
While you talk, the character quietly notes what matters and files it in a memory bank, timestamped and tagged by who it is about. Edit a memory, remove one, or write your own. The next conversation starts knowing it.
Talk as another character
Pick a second character from your list and speak as them. The chat pulls their persona and a vision read of their profile picture into context, then plays the scene with the relationship between the two setting the tone.
How it works
A typical first session.
-
01
Create
Name a character. From here on, everything you make belongs to your account alone.
-
02
Describe
Let the Design Assistant interview you, or paste references. The six persona sections stay hand-editable.
-
03
Imagine
Generate a look: base model, prompt, pose, LoRAs. Curate the keepers and pin the profile shot.
-
04
Approve
See the final body once and request tweaks. This is the gate before anything expensive runs.
-
05
Build the film
Run the pipeline step by step, approving candidates as you go, until the clips are stitched.
Under the hood
All of it runs on your machine.
Generation runs one job at a time and evicts the chat model from VRAM first, so a 16GB card renders images and video without fighting the language model for memory.
ComfyUI
Z-Image Turbo for stills, Wan 2.2 FLF2V for clips, driven by the character pipeline workflows.
Ollama
Local Qwen models do the chatting, the persona writing and the image viewing. Nothing leaves the box.
The Apophex server
One FastAPI process serves the API, the web UI, the agent loop and the shared generation queue.
Your phone, your tailnet
Open the same UI from a phone on your Tailscale network, or install the Android app and keep a two-way copy of your library.
Accounts and privacy
Share the GPU, not the work.
Several people can use one install. Sign-in is a session cookie, every path is resolved against whoever is asking, and forgotten passwords are recovered with a reset secret you choose, because nothing here sends mail.
